First go on the slatmill was all about teaching Atlas the mechanics and building his confidence. While he was unsure of the sensation at first, lots of frequent breaks to remind him he’s in control of the speed paired with praise and play quickly got him pumped up about it!
How did we get there? First, I’m so proud of this pup 🥹 Getting Koda introduced and comfortable with the slat mill was a slow process. It took a lot of time, patience, trial and error, and came with some thoughts of defeat. For such a confident dog, she was really struggling to grasp why the floor was moving underneath her (understandable) and once she did, she was barely moving the belt and it was choppy. We spent many weeks doing daily sessions of just getting on and off, a few more weeks w
